Website Discounts & Payment Terms

Discounts offered on our website are given in good faith with the expectation of orders over £2,500.00 inc VAT to be paid via BACS (bank transfer). Orders over this amount can still be paid via commercial credit or debit card however we may need to impose a 2.5% fee to cover gateway charges. Legally, we cannot charge fees for using a consumer credit/debit card so if an order over £2,500.00 is to be paid via credit/debit card, we may not be able to offer the volume discount shown on our website. Please contact us to discuss your requirements.

Eligibility To Purchase Products

All products on our website are available for sale to people living in & businesses registered in mainland United Kingdom. Due to additional shipping costs to certains parts of Cornwall, Scotland, & Wales we request you contact ourselves prior to placing an order so we can manually check costs & provide a quotation (if available). Please note, we are only able to deliver the majority of our products to commercial site addresses due to the nature of the goods, logistical restrictions, & the terms of our suppliers. We are unable to deliver outside of mainland UK, this includes Northern Ireland & Republic of Ireland, The Orkney, Shetland Islands, The Isle of Man, Hebrides (including the Inner Hebrides, Outer Hebrides and Small Isles), & The Isle of Wight.

In order to satisfy certain legal requirements and ensure that the delivery of the products can be made effectively and safely we need to be sure of certain pieces of information about you.

By placing an order through our site, you confirm and acknowledge that:

(a) You are legally capable of entering into binding contracts; and
(b) You are at least 18 years old;
(c) You are resident in the United Kingdom; and
(d) You are accessing our site from that country.

Our website contains a large number of products and it is always possible that, despite our best efforts, some of the goods listed on our site may be incorrectly priced. We will normally verify prices as part of our order confirmation procedures so that, where a product’s correct price is less than our stated price we will charge the lower amount when dispatching the goods to you. If a product’s correct price is higher than the price stated on our site, we will normally, at our discretion, either contact you for instructions before dispatching the goods, or reject your order and notify you of such rejection.

Back Orders

If your item is not in stock, we will back order for you. You will always be emailed with the option to cancel your order if you would rather not wait. If you cancel your order after the goods have been dispatched from the manufacturer/distributor you could be liable for handling and/or transport costs.

Privacy

We do not disclose buyers’ information to third parties other than when order details are processed as part of the order fulfilment. In this case, the third party will not disclose any of the details to any other third party. Please see our full privacy policy at www.thatcarpettilecompany.co.uk/privacy-policy/

Delivery Information

It is the buyer’s responsibility to check the goods for damage or wrong delivery before accepting delivery. No claim for damages or wrong delivery can be made if the carrier’s receipt is signed as goods received in good condition, signing for goods as ‘not inspected’ cannot be accepted and shall be deemed as the goods being signed as in good condition. Any claim for damages or wrong delivery must be made to That Carpet Tile Company LTD in writing within 3 days of receipt of goods, failing which all claims shall be deemed to be waived and absolutely barred.

NOTE: Deliveries can only be made to the kerb side. The buyer must provide assistance unloading the goods and please be aware that flooring goods are often bulky and can be extremely heavy so we’d advise the customer source help from a suitable accomplice(s) to move them from the kerb side to a safe location. Depending on the goods ordered, a pallet truck or lifting equipment may also be required. It is assumed that the delivery address can be accessible by anything from a small van to an 18-tonne articulated lorry. It is the buyer’s responsibility to advise us of any restrictions, e.g. the road is subject to a vehicle weight or width limit; please inform us at the time of order in the ‘order notes section’. We also require a telephone number on which the recipient can be contacted on during the day of delivery if the driver needs to make contact.

The delivery vehicle must be able to park at the delivery address without committing a parking offence. If the customer knows of any parking restrictions or problems, they must be made known to us at the time of ordering. If the customer instructs the driver to park in a manner that results in a parking penalty being incurred payment of this will be the responsibility of the customer.

If there are any specific restrictions to site, we will need to be informed of this at the point of enquiry/quotation. This can include, but not limited to, any special licenses to enter a site such as Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme (FORS) www.fors-online.org.uk.

The person who placed the order will need to be at the delivery address to sign for the goods, the delivery slot is typically any time between 8am and 6pm. All goods must be signed for by a person over the age of 18. Any requirement for an upgraded delivery outside of the standard delivery times above (i.e a morning or timed delivery slot) must be presented at the time of enquiry/quotation & prior to processing an order so that we can explore the additional costs with the manufacturer/haulage firm for these services.

Delivery schedules are made based on the suppliers’ schedules & can vary based on supplier. Some suppliers will operate on a standard service, such as 1-3 working days or 3-5 working days, or some can operate on a postcode basis.

NOTE: If a delivery is attempted and the driver is unable to gain vehicular access or the buyer (or their representative) is not present to receive the goods, the buyer will be liable for any re-delivery costs incurred. Any re-delivery costs are required to be paid to ourselves prior to arranging a re-delivery with the delivery firm; these costs vary per manufacturer/delivery firm.

In installing or using any goods or equipment supplied by ourselves, That Carpet Tile Company LTD, the purchaser shall observe all instructions, directions and warnings issued by ourselves or the manufacturer.

Commercial Vs residential/private delivery addresses: The type of goods sold on our website are typically ordered by & are delivered to commercial businesses. Where possible we will attempt to deliver to a residential address, if required, however due to governance by our suppliers this is not always possible & some manufacturers will only deliver to commercial premises due to logistical purposes or without reason. If an order is placed with a residential delivery address & this cannot be fulfilled, we will make contact immediately to discuss an alternative address or arrange for the order to be cancelled & a refund to be processed.

Regional Delivery Limitations

We advise all customers to get in touch prior to placing an order, regardless of size or delivery location, as this allows us to check stock & also validate the delivery address. At this point we will advise if there are any restrictions on the location as some of our suppliers who utilise their own transport fleets can have issues/limitations in delivering to parts of Scotland, Wales, Cornwall, Devon, & other more remote areas. We can provide a quotation for couriered delivery for some items to some of the areas which are harder to reach/not covered by standard transport.

At present, goods are are only available to be delivered to mainland UK, we do not ship outside of mainland UK. Due to the BREXIT changes, our suppliers will no longer deliver to both Northern Ireland & ROI.

Overseas Enquiries

We are only able to sell to UK based & registered companies & individuals, our suppliers only permit us to arrange deliveries to UK mainland addresses. Once the goods reach their final UK delivery location, we are not responsible for any onwards freight & this must be undertaken by the customer. Once the goods have been signed for & the delivery has been completed, no further corrections can be made once the goods leave the UK. Warranties & support cannot be honoured by the manufacturer when the goods are not purchased via the authorised distribution partner in the intended destination country, so we always advise approaching the relevant contacts in the country of intended use before making a purchase elsewhere.

Delivery Schedule

Whilst every effort will be made by ourselves to ensure that the correct quantity and quality of goods are delivered within a timely manner to the buyer, we shall be under no liability for any delay or failure to deliver the goods within the estimated timescale. We recommend that you make arrangements for trade’s people to carry out any required work on your behalf only after you have received the goods.

All cases of force majeure such as severe weather conditions, wars, riots, strikes, lockouts, bankruptcy, fire, water damage, delay in transport, lack of means of transport, breakdown in factories or those of our suppliers or any other unforeseeable events give us the right to postpone the fulfilment of the contract, as well as to cancel it partially or wholly without thereby conferring on the buyer the right to claim damages against ourselves or the manufacturers.

Returns Policy

Goods may be returned for whatever reason excluding:

  • Goods which have been specifically manufactured to a customer’s request
  • Goods which have been cut to size
  • Goods brought in on a special order for the customer

If a delivery has been made and the goods need to be returned, they will only be accepted by our suppliers for restocking if they are undamaged and in the original unopened packaging. Furthermore, a handling charge of 30% applies (which may vary by supplier) & will be deducted from your refund amount as well as any initial transport, storage, & re-delivery costs incurred by the supplier. Any fees which would exceed the refund amount would be required to be paid prior to the return request being processed. The goods must be returned to stock at the buyer’s expense via their chosen courier. Your refund will be paid within 28 days of the goods being received in an acceptable condition.

Please keep in mind that the goods we supply come from various locations including but not limited to: mainland UK, France, Germany, Sweden, Belgium, & Holland, so making returns to these locations can be come very costly.

Some other suppliers may also impose their own caveats on returns, such as Tarkett DESSO have the above handling charge plus a 10 box minimum return policy.

The colours of the products may vary slightly on the website due to limitations of browser software monitors so you are encouraged to request samples prior to order.

The goods can be heavy and prone to damage in transit, you are advised to suitably protect the goods and take out sufficient insurance to cover their value.

When you return goods to us in a condition which indicates that they have been used or attempted to be installed or erected after you have had a reasonable chance to inspect them, we will consider you to be in breach of your legal duty to take reasonable care of the goods and reserve the right to recover appropriate sums from you.

This cancellation policy does not affect your rights when we are at fault – for example, if goods are faulty. Incase of this please contact us on [email protected].

None of these terms affect your legal rights and these are not diminished in any way. If any term is held to be invalid under any applicable statute or rule of law, that term is automatically omitted from the terms to minimum extent necessary to comply with the law and without affecting the validity or enforceability of the remainder.

By placing an order with us, you are acknowledging you have read & understood the important information outlined above. If you have any questions, please contact us on 0330 1331 759 or email [email protected].
