Delivery Information

It is the buyer’s responsibility to check the goods for damage or wrong delivery before accepting delivery. No claim for damages or wrong delivery can be made if the carrier’s receipt is signed as goods received in good condition, signing for goods as ‘not inspected’ cannot be accepted and shall be deemed as the goods being signed as in good condition. Any claim for damages or wrong delivery must be made to That Carpet Tile Company LTD in writing within 3 days of receipt of goods, failing which all claims shall be deemed to be waived and absolutely barred.

NOTE: Deliveries can only be made to the kerb side. The buyer must provide assistance unloading the goods and please be aware that flooring goods are often bulky and can be extremely heavy so we’d advise the customer source help from a suitable accomplice to move them from the kerb side to a safe location. Depending on the goods ordered, a pallet truck or lifting equipment may also be required. It is assumed that the delivery address can be accessible by anything from a small van to an 18-tonne articulated lorry. It is the buyer’s responsibility to advise us of any restrictions, e.g. the road is subject to a vehicle weight or width limit; please inform us at the time of order in the ‘order notes section’. We also require a telephone number on which the recipient can be contacted on during the day of delivery if the driver needs to make contact. For example, an average full roll of Altro safety vinyl will weigh approx 100kg, a 6m2 cut of Altro will weigh approx 15kg, a roll of our 60oz luxury carpet will weigh approx 200kg & a single box of good quality carpet tiles will weigh approx 20kg per box; multiples of these will amount significantly.

The delivery vehicle must be able to park at the delivery address without committing a parking offence. If the customer knows of any parking restrictions or problems, they must be made known to us at the time of ordering. If the customer instructs the driver to park in a manner that results in a parking penalty being incurred payment of this will be the responsibility of the customer.

The person who placed the order will need to be at the delivery address to sign for the goods, the delivery slot is any time between 8am and 6pm. All goods must be signed for by a person over the age of 18.

Delivery schedules are made based on the suppliers’ schedules & can vary based on supplier. Some suppliers will operate on a standard service, such as 1-3 or 3-5 working days or some can operate on a postcode basis.

NOTE: If a delivery is attempted on an agreed delivery date and the driver is unable to gain vehicular access or the buyer (or their representative) is not present to receive the goods, the buyer will be liable for any re-delivery costs incurred. Any re-delivery costs are required to be paid prior to ourselves arranging a re-delivery with the courier/haulage firm. These costs vary per manufacturer but are typically in the range of £50.00 – £125.00 + VAT.

In installing or using any goods or equipment supplied by ourselves, That Carpet Tile Company LTD, the purchaser shall observe all instructions, directions and warnings issued by ourselves or the manufacturer.

Commercial Vs residential/private delivery addresses: The type of goods sold on our website are typically ordered by & delivered to commercial businesses. Where possible we will attempt to deliver to a residential address, if required, however due to governance by our suppliers this is not always possible & some manufacturers will only deliver to commercial premises due to logistical purposes or without reason. If an order is placed with a residential delivery address & this cannot be fulfilled, we will make contact immediately to discuss an alternative address or arrange for the order to be cancelled & a refund to be processed.

Scotland & Ireland: Regrettably, we are unable to provide accurate pricing for shipping to Scotland & Ireland; this is due to the nature of the goods, the delivery network & the variables in cost of shipping these items. Some manufacturers will not deliver to these locations at all but some may provide us with a delivery cost which we will be happy to pass on to our customers should they request a custom quote for these areas. Most products we can deliver no further than the Glasgow/Edinburgh divide but we advise getting in touch to check any product restrictions to these areas prior to placing your order.

Devon & Cornwall: There are also some restrictions on a handful of products for customers whom require delivery to Devon & Cornwall. We advise getting in touch to check any product restrictions to these areas prior to placing your order.

At present, goods are are only available to be delivered to mainland England & Wales (with some exceptions for the Glasgow/Edinburgh divide) unless otherwise arranged by ourselves.

Delivery Schedule

Whilst every effort will be made by ourselves to ensure that the correct quantity and quality of goods are delivered within a timely manner to the buyer, we shall be under no liability for any delay or failure to deliver the goods within the estimated timescale. We recommend that you make arrangements for trade’s people to carry out any required work on your behalf only after you have received the goods.

All cases of force majeure such as wars, riots, strikes, lockouts, bankruptcy, fire, water damage, delay in transport, lack of means of transport, breakdown in factories or those of our suppliers or any other unforeseeable events give us the right to postpone the fulfillment of the contract, as well as to cancel it partially or wholly without thereby conferring on the buyer the right to claim damages against ourselves or the manufacturers.
